This Photoshoot Celebrates The Boundary-Shattering Love Of This Hindu-Muslim Couple

Each day, so many of us fall in love and decide to cement the bond with marriage. And as love grows, we celebrate one anniversary after another, wishing to spend a lifetime together.

Caste, creed, and other such “brandings” have plagued large sections of society since time immemorial. And when it comes to 2 directly clashing religions and their followers, the results are usually not so good. And the Hindu-Muslim clashes have borne some sour fruits. But love has the power to transcend all barriers, especially the man-made ones.

Anjali Chakra and Sundas Malik are one powerful couple breaking all such barriers. While Anjali is a Hindu girl from India, Sundas was brought up in a conservative Sunni household in Pakistan. But when Cupid stuck these two, nothing else mattered.

They went viral for their love story last year when this same-sex couple got married. They have again got the internet’s attention this year with their anniversary photoshoot by Sarowar Ahmed.

These two women posed in their traditional clothing in Manhattan. They shared a kiss under the Bryant Park Ferris Wheel too. While their love is nothing unusual in New York, things back home are not so easy. Firstly, they are a homosexual couple and on top of that, they are from such religious backgrounds which oppose each other. They are thankful for the acceptance that they have received but they also know how difficult it is for others like them around the world. Still, they hope the acceptance and love they have received will be showered on others like them as well.

Both are eager to share their experiences and learn about each other’s cultures and traditions. They look forward to spending a long and happy life together and they have the internet’s blessing too!
