Actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith are teaming up on a project to help the Amazon rainforest. Two companies that the actors are heavily invested in will be collaborating on a promotional fundraiser for Amazon Preservation.

“Allbirds”, a shoe company that DiCaprio is invested in, will be working with Smith’s sustainable water brand “Just,” to make two limited edition shoes. All profits from the shoes will go to DiCaprio’s Amazon Forest Fund.

The price of the shoes ranges between £95 and £115, depending on what style you are looking at.

In a statement about the new collaboration, Smith said that ‘There is only one Mother Earth, and it’s on us to protect her.”

“We source Just sugarcane caps from Brazil, so this hits especially close to home. Collaborating with businesses who are creating innovative, sustainable solutions are the key to our future, and it’s important that we support those brands who give back more than they take,” the statement continued.

DiCaprio’s foundation has already raised at least $5 million for efforts to preserve the Amazon rainforest, and that number is expected to climb significantly thanks to promotions like this one.

Luckily, many people are now making efforts to preserve the Amazon in response to the news coverage of this year’s fires. As we reported earlier this week, a vegan blockchain company purchased 15,000 acres of Amazon rainforest for the purpose of preservation after gathering $10 million through fundraising efforts.

An agreement for greater protections of the rainforest was recently signed by representatives from seven South American Countries. However, 60% of the existing Amazon rainforest is located within the borders of Brazil, and the Brazilian government seems determined to develop the land. In fact, even in light of the global outrage concerning the fires in the Amazon, officials from Brazil and the United States met this week to discuss development plans for the region.
