Laurent Simons now aged twelve became one of the youngest ever to Graduate and obtain a bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
The Local Newspaper De Telegraaf reported that he received the highest distinction when he Graduated from the University of Antwerp with a bachelor’s degree in Physics.
He is currently busy with his master’s degree in Physics. He said, “I ultimately want to be able to replace as many parts of the body as possible with counterfeit organs.” (Translated from De Telegraaf) in the same article he also said: “But that’s not what I do it for, I do it to achieve my goal,”
His goal is to turn himself into a cyborg, his bachelor’s degree part of his goal to reach “Immortality”. He also said: “I’ve mapped out a path to get there. You can see it as a big puzzle.”
Quantum Physics is next on his study list about the subject he told the De Telegraaf newspaper “Two things are important in such a study: acquiring knowledge and applying that knowledge,” He also added “To achieve the second, I want to work with the best professors in the world, look inside their brains and find out how they think.”
In 2021 Laurent Simons was interviewed in an article written by Jenny Haward in Newsweek to tell his story. In that article he said he started his Physics course in April 2020 he mostly studied at home because of the pandemic. He also noted that obtaining the qualifications has never been important to him. But for his master’s degree a bachelor’s degree was a prerequisite.
One of the main drivers that made him more interested in immortality is his grandparents as they suffer from heart disease.
His goal is not only to help them but to help other children to enable them to not lose their grandparents.
It all sounds wonderful but transhumanist movements can be very dangerous as well. Turning humans into cyborgs could potentially extend life or give us additional abilities but also make us hackable or dependent on unethical corporations or governments. At Truth Theory we have been exploring these ideas in the past with some of the developments in this sector, such as the brain microchip that is developed currently by Elon Musk’s company, Neuralink, below you can watch our videos:
