To describe the unusual habit of men urinating sitting down, there is a new word Sitzpinkler which is being used. In 2015 A German court decided that men have a right to stand upright while urinating following the demand of a landlord for monetary compensation for damaging the floor of his bathroom. He claimed $2,200 for marble flooring that was damaged due to standing while urinating.

The debate whether a man must stand or sit while urination is quite common and the judge of Dusseldorf stated that urinating while standing is a conventional practice in Germany. Stefan Hank, the judge, declared that according to reports by experts, the damage to the floor was caused due to uric acid. Numerous public toilets in Germany have installed red-signs to forbid standing while urinating. This has resulted in using the term Sitzpinkeln or Sitzpinkler, meaning unnatural.

Issues And Discussions Regarding Sitzpinkler

The frequent reinforcement of forbidding the erect position has led to the non-masculine terminology used for German men. German men closely guard this secret.

This prohibition has piqued many of the men in the country who feel deprived of basic rights and overburdened by this unreasonable prevention. Several men feel like they are committing a crime every time they have to sit down to take a piss. There is a prohibition in public washrooms on sitzpinkler.

There is a belief that this forced act is unmanly and inhuman.  They believe nobody should dictate to them regarding the way they can or cannot release toxins out of their bodies.

Many men defy the prohibition by standing and showing a finger to the oppression.

This dark secret has not only oppressed the men but every other German as well. Germans still use this unusual platform and create a mess that requires continuous cleaning.

Preference Towards Reclining position

Public health activists and feminists regard standing as unhygienic. They have often argued for sitzpinkler while urinating. A 2007 poll revealed that about 49% of the married men urinate while sitting. This was a mere 15% in the year 1999. Americans are also rapidly catching up with big personalities including Ryan Gosling prefer to sit and pee.

Many people have been trying to speak for the sitting position citing several health issues like the prostrate position being more natural and complimentary for better sex life as well as a more masculine activity. Additionally, the prostrate position is scientifically better for a healthy and longer life span of men.

Since the last few decades, numerous nations have progressively opted for the reclining urination or sitzpinkler process in their culture.

Places like Taiwan and Japan lay emphasis on toilet associations. Countries like South Korea and Singapore have active and dynamic associations for toilet practices and strict measures of health and hygiene.

Following the recent phenomenon of cleanliness on a global level has resulted in opting for the trend of seated urination that has now become a personal choice rather than a cultural practice.

Islamic nations, forbid this practice. The West and several Asian countries are now showing a preference for sitting to pee only because the men are preferring to do so.
