Police In Vietnam Bust Facility Recycling 300,000 Used Condoms

Police in Vietnam have found a facility where used condoms were being illegally and unhygienically recycled, to be sold in the market. According to their report, more than 300,000 used condoms were being recycled at an apartment. Tuoi Tre News reported that this 360 kg of recycled condoms would then be sold in the market as fresh pieces.

All the recycled items were confiscated by the police. The apartment is located at DX12, Hoa Nhut Quarter, Tan Vinh Hiep Ward, Binh Duong Province, in South Vietnam. Vietnam Insider reported that when this location was raided, the authorities found the unlabeled and unpackaged recycled condoms in plastic bags.

A Vast Circle Of Used Condoms?

The owner of the apartment admitted that she used to receive a monthly supply of used condoms. Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc said this came from an anonymous supplier. Once at the facility, they would be washed, dried, and reshaped using a dildo. All this was done under unhygienic conditions and then put up for sale.

The police busting this facility is a good thing, but it raises the question if there are other similar facilities where condoms are being recycled in the country. Using items like a condom that comes from such dubious sources poses a serious threat to one’s health. Infection and spread of diseases can impact a huge number of people.
