By Fattima Mahdi

Oprah Winfrey is an American media executive, talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist. In this video, she delivers a life-changing message – know who you are. She encourages us to ask the question “who am I and what do I want?” To fulfill the highest, truest expression of yourself as a human being you have to know the direction you want to go. You need to be conscious of space and time. How do you serve? How do you bring significance to your life? What is your purpose. These are questions you must answer if we want to live a life filled with joy and wonder.

“All of you leaving here have the potential for enormous success. There’s a price that comes with that.” – Oprah Winfrey

The biggest choices begin and end with you. It is your responsibility to live the life you want. A life you carved out for yourself. Here are 4 ways you can live a life with purpose:

Set priorities: Identify what matters and make the most of your time so that you can stay on top of the work. “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives” – Annie Dillard.

Make a difference: Help someone, volunteer at a shelter or offer to help your friend with his new business venture. Do something without expectation of personal gain.

Be present: Cherish every breath you take, every moment you are here, thinking, feeling, being. Don’t forget to appreciate experiences, to truly bask in the beauty of today.

Be Consistent: Make a daily effort to move in the direction that you know deep down is right for you. Keep building every day, despite the challenges, despite the failures, keep walking towards success. The daily seeds we sow sow bound to bear fruit – when the time is right.
