Moby Opens Vegan Restaurant With ALL Proceeds Going To Charity

Moby might be best-known for his cool electronic music, but he’s quickly becoming renowned for something else: his commitment to the animals and the environment. This is because the DJ opened a vegan restaurant in California and donates every penny it makes to animal charities.

The Little Pine bistro is located in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. According to Eater, Moby never intended for the bistro to be a “conventional entrepreneurial endeavor.” In a statement, the activist said he wants it “to represent veganism in a really positive light, and also to support the animal welfare organizations who do such remarkable work.” The organizations include the Humane Society, PETA, Sea Shepherd, Farm Sanctuary, and the Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Located at 2870 Rowena Avenue, the hip dining spot features Mediterranean, plant-based cuisine. The woodsy-chic design is intentioned to be inviting, and reflects the celebrity’s interest in architecture.

“I can write about organic food and veganism and architecture & design, but it’s a lot more compelling and interesting to open a restaurant and show actual, physical examples of organic food, community, veganism, and architecture & design,” says Moby on the website. “Blogs and instagram are great, but a picture of food will never replace an actual, beautiful plate of food served in a beautiful space.”
