On Wednesday, two men identified as Bo Benac and Nicholas Burns Easterling uploaded a video of themselves dragging a shark at high speed behind a boat. While they thought it was funny at the time, the majority of the public did not. As a result, an investigation was launched. And, it turns out the ‘Florida Bros’ have a history of abusing wildlife.

The NYPost reports that brutes have a history of documenting vile stunts with ocean wildlife. In one instance, they posed for a picture while pouring beer into the mouth of a grouper.

On the Facebook post that “outed” them, a user wrote: “This is one of the evil POS that dragged the shark. His name is Bo Benac. His mother is a Manatee County commissioner. Look what he and his friend are doing to this beautiful grouper who was probably 50 years old. #notfunny.” The post went on to identify the other men as Nicholas Burns Easterling and Michael Wenzel, the latter of whom was investigated in 2015 by state and federal officials after posting pictures of gripping pelicans and a gull.

Another post on Wenzel’s Instagram page shows him shooting a gun at a tarpon in Siesta Key, a video that accumulated more than 5,400 views in one day. According to the Miami Herald, Wenzel’s profile was no longer active as of Friday. His family has refused to comment.

Outraged by the men’s behavior, over 9,000 people have signed an online petition demanding that the bros be punished for “sociopathic behavior” against wildlife. The petition reads, “This sociopathic behavior demands attention and prevention. Many feel that this act of violence is in fact a criminal act … We also demand that everyone in this video has their fishing license revoked permanently.”

After the most recent video of the shark being dragged behind the boat was sent to Capt. Mark Quartiano, a local shark hunter, comments racked up demanding the guys lose their fishing licenses.  “This is awful to see and they are laughing at what they’re doing to the shark,” read one comment.
