Elated Dad Serenades Herd of Cows with Saxophone in New Viral Video

An excited dad who has been learning to play the saxophone recently performed for his first live audience: a herd of heifers. Based on the cows’ intrigued reactions, it seems his musical expression was a hit.
Rick Herrmann of McMinnville, Oregon, began learning saxophone seven months ago. In that short span of time, he’s learned several songs. Recently, he decided to take his music to the streets — er, field. Herrmann’s daughter published two videos of the impromptu concert.

The saxophonist began by playing a cover of “Isn’t She Lovely?” by Stevie Wonder, followed by a version of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper”. By the end of the two-minute clip, the musician is surrounded by cows.
In the second video, Herrmann plays the iconic melody of “Tequila.” If you listen closely, you can hear a neighbor chiming in.

The footage was uploaded late June but has already been shared millions of times. During an interview with KPTV, Herrmann admitted that he is shocked at how his “goofy” performance could rack up over 12 million collective views. He’s also happy people have enjoyed his musical shenanigans.

“It just seemed to resonate with so many people. So many people said they had a hard day and they watched it and it put a smile on their face,” he told the news outlet.
