How Mercury In Retrograde Can Affect Your Life

Between August 23 and September 15, we experience an “infamous” astrological alignment known as “Mercury Retrograde.” What it means is that the planet Mercury appears to be moving backward in its orbit from Earth’s perspective.

In reality, no planet ever moves backward, but due to the varying speeds at which planets orbit the Sun, they can appear to do so when observed from Earth.

This alignment typically occurs three to four times a year, and it is believed to impact things like communication, technology, and decision-making, often leading to misunderstandings. Astrologers advise avoiding signing contracts or making important decisions during these periods and recommend patience with communication. It’s best to avoid arguments and confrontations.

Many people dismiss astrology as pseudoscience, but most of the time, these individuals think of astrology as what they see in horoscopes in tabloid publications. Properly studying astrology reveals its complexity, taking into account factors such as the location and time of a person’s birth. Horoscopes in tabloid newspapers and magazines are broad and typically focus on the position of the sun during a person’s birth period. However, small differences, such as the person’s birth location, hour, minute, and more, can have significant meaning. It’s also noted that the sun is just one important aspect among the “big three,” which includes the position of the moon and the so-called “ascendant” sign, located on the eastern horizon at the time of a person’s birth, among other influences.

Therefore, horoscopes in the press should not be taken too seriously, as they are overly generalized. From my observations, I’ve noticed that during the Mercury Retrograde periods, some of the described characteristics do manifest. For example, I recently received an erroneous water bill from the water company, leading to an argument where they refused to admit their mistake and tried to hold me accountable for someone else’s bill.

I’ve observed similar misunderstandings in the past during the Mercury Retrograde seasons, not only in my life but also in the lives of my friends.
