Finally a solution to the low battery woes! A group of researchers from Monash University in Australia has developed what they claim to be the “most efficient lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery” which can keep a smartphone charged for five days straight! They claim that the charge won’t drop even if the user is constantly on the phone. This groundbreaking discovery has stirred interest among the world’s topmost manufacturers and the researchers have already filed a patent for the product. Not only are these Li-S batteries cheaper than the existing lithium-ion batteries, but they are also eco-friendly as they are manufactured using water-based processes and leave behind lesser toxic waste.

So, what are the gadgets that can be run using these new batteries? It can be used in cameras, phones, and even large systems that involve vehicles. It will revolutionize the way filmmakers and photographers work. They can now work till the wee hours of the morning or shoot at really remote areas that do not have modern facilities without having to depend on the very unpredictable solar chargers!

The team’s research was published in the journal Science Advances and was funded by the Australian government. Lead researcher, Professor Mainak Majumder believes that this development “will revolutionize the Australian vehicle market and provide all Australians with a cleaner and more reliable energy market.”
