Do You Keep Seeing Owls? What Is The Meaning Of This Strange Phenomenon
Tags: opinion
There have been some real strange things going on in my world in the last year and the last 3 weeks have been no different in terms of weirdness, but in these last 3 weeks I have been sent down a little rabbit hole of discovery and trying to decipher meaning out of something I have never had any experience with.
Let me explain- for the last 21 days I have seen owls everyday, some days over 5 times. I live in South East London and I think the owl population here is possibly zero and while I have not seen any real owls (yet), I keep seeing owls on Facebook, owls in art work, owls everywhere!
It is literally getting to the point where I would not be surprised if an owl burst through a double rainbow, riding on the back of a unicorn throwing gold nuggets at me!
Maybe that last statement is pushing it a little too far, but it is a surreal experience when something you have never really noticed before starts showing up in your life and after a little research it turns out I am not the only one.
It is quite common for synchronicities and serendipities to show up for many people this is something I have personally experienced for as long as I can remember and many others have too! I really got an idea of how many other have experienced these events when I wrote an article called Do You See 11:11? The Mysterious World Of Synchronicity and I received hundreds of emails from readers telling me of their experiences with synchronicity.
However everyone owns a clock and most people see numbers everyday, so the sceptics could say it is just your brain looking for significance in something that has no significance. This is not my own personal belief on the matter, but many believe this to be the case.
However to see multiple owls everyday for 21 days I think is a little weird and hard to explain! This lead me on the journey to try and find out exactly what this means and here is what I found:
Death-
The first thing that I found is that owls can symbolise death, which is not a good start! But this is not as bad as it sounds, in China, Egypt and India the owl is a guardian for the afterlife and seen in a good light, not necessarily meaning that those who come in contact are going to die. But It can be seen to represent a rebirth, meaning the death of habits that no longer serve you.
Meaning-
The owl spirit is related to a deep connection with your wisdom and intuition. If the owl is your animal totem or power you will likely have the ability to see that which is hidden from most, the ability to read between the lines and take as much from what is not said, than from what is said.
When the owl guides you, you see reality as it is, going beyond the illusory and deceitful. The owl connects those who have it as their personal totem to the magic of life and the inspiration and guidance needed to explore the more mysterious aspects of existence.
Symbolism-
The owl has been symbolically linked to-
- Wisdom
- Mystery
- Transition
- Messages
- Intelligence
- Mysticism
- Protection
- Secrets
- Dreams
- Shadows
- Otherworldliness
- Secret knowledge
- Psychic awareness
Native Americans linked the owl with wisdom, being able to predict how events will unfold and those who are keepers of knowledge. This could possibly be linked to the owl’s ability to predict weather conditions and its ability to see during in the dark.
This is a common interpretation of what it means if you have an owl as your spirit guide. If you have enjoyed this article please go ahead and share it! I would also love to hear from you if you have had an owl or anything similar show up in your life, so please leave us a comment below if this is you! Much love, Luke
