This delicious tropical fruit is packed with vitamins and minerals, including potassium, copper, manganese, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, thiamin, vitamin B6 and folate. Pineapple also contains a relatively rare proteolytic enzyme called bromelain, this helps to break down complex proteins and has serious anti-inflammatory effects. As a result, pineapple can help to to reduce the inflammation of joints and muscles, particularly those associated with arthritis.


Oranges are full of potassium, an electrolyte mineral that is responsible for healthy heart function. The juicy fruit is also full of Vitamin C which helps to lower diseases such as cancer and heart disease. In addition, oranges also alkalize the body, they contain alkaline minerals that help balance out the body after they are digested.


This exotic fruit is said to be Chinese in origin and has been valued for its medicinal properties since ancient times. Kiwi has a higher source of Vitamin C than lemons and oranges, it acts as a powerful antioxidant, eliminating free radicals that could cause inflammation or cancer. Cherries contain powerful antioxidants like anthocyanins and cyanidin. They have also been found to reduce inflammation and lower the risk of gout. One study found that individuals who ate a half cup serving (10-12) cherries day had a 35% lower risk of subsequent gout attack.


Antioxidants such as flavonoids, phenolic phytochemicals and ellagic acid are all present in strawberries. This tasty fruit is also rich in iodine which helps to regulate the proper functioning of the brain and nervous system.
