Tesco Christmas Advert Featuring Santa Showing Covid Vaccine Passport Creates Backlash

The Advertising Standards Authority – The UK’s advertising regulator has received over 1500 complaints regarding Tesco’s newest commercial. The advert titled “This Christmas, Nothing’s Stopping Us” portrays the public enjoying “proper” Christmas this year after last year’s lockdowns and restrictions.

The scene that created all the backlash is featuring Santa presenting his Covid Passport at border control so he can enter the country without restrictions. The video has over 32k dislikes and 3.9k likes on YouTube and it seems like Tesco decided to not allow the public to comment or they just decided to remove that feature which suggests that they weren’t happy with the responses of the public.
