“Politicians Who Stole Our Liberty Should Be Tarred, Feathered, Thrown Out Of Town,” Says Elon Musk
Tesla founder Elon Musk has continued his tirade against United States lawmakers who are enforcing stay-at-home orders during the coronavirus.
The U.S. has been the country hit hardest by Covid-19, with nearly 90,000 fatalities and over 1.5 million positive cases.
The initial early lockdowns – implemented in order to ‘flatten the curve’ – were generally accepted. But now there is a growing unease among Americans, many of whom who feel that the economy needs to be opened up again.
As per a report on Friday, 18 states, and around 40% of America’s population (130 million people) are still under stay-at-home orders.
By comparison, 42 states and a total of 308 million people were under stay-at-home orders at the end of March.
But still, as the economy continues to dive and unemployment rises, many are calling for lockdown regulations to be lifted in more states and for businesses to be able to reopen.
Musk has been particularly vocal in his criticism of the California government as he battles to keep his Tesla plant in Fremont open.

Earlier this month he tweeted: “Frankly, I would call it forcible imprisoning of people in their homes against all of, their constitutional rights, in my opinion.
“It’s breaking people’s freedoms in ways that are horrible and wrong and not why they came to America or built this country. What the f***. Excuse me. Outrage. Outrage.
“If somebody wants to stay in their house, that’s great and they should be able to. But to say they cannot leave their house and that they will be arrested if they do, that’s fascist. That is not democratic — this is not freedom. Give people back their goddamn freedom.”
Now he’s followed that up with another online rant. In response to a Twitter post made by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
In a video, Portnoy criticized authorities for what he perceives to be as an about-turn on lockdown regulations.
“Well said!” Musk replied. “Please run for office. The politicians & unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty should be tarred, feathered & thrown out of town!
