Why I Stopped Trusting Most Spiritual Practices
By Mike Sygula,
Many people leave religion in search of spirituality, believing they have found the truth and an alternative to dogmatic—and often harmful—religious practices. However, what frequently happens is that they simply leave one matrix (religion) only to enter another: the matrix of unconscious spirituality and shady esoteric practices.
I’ve observed this for many years, and I’ve fallen into similar traps myself.
The Trap of Blind Belief
The first problem is naivety.
People often accept spiritual teachings and practices without carefully questioning whether they are true or considering the intentions behind them.
This is common in religion. A book of uncertain origin is accepted as absolute truth simply because people have believed in it for centuries. People pray to beings they cannot verify actually exist, perform rituals without understanding their consequences, and connect with forces they know very little about.
Yet I see very similar patterns throughout many spiritual, esoteric, and shamanic communities.
The 369 Manifestation Method
A few years ago, I briefly dated a woman who introduced me to the popular 369 manifestation method, which is often claimed to be connected to the teachings of Nikola Tesla.
That was the first time I had heard of it.
The technique involves writing down your desire or goal three times in the morning, six times during the day, and nine times at night.
She was extremely determined to manifest money and improve her financial situation.
Over many years of observing both myself and others, I noticed a recurring pattern: when someone desperately wants something, they often attract solutions that come with hidden costs.
Desperation creates chaotic and incoherent energy, which tends to attract experiences vibrating at a similar frequency—deceptive people, manipulative opportunities, or situations that appear beneficial at first but ultimately lead to suffering.
As I researched the 369 method, I discovered that it had become incredibly popular. Many people claimed they had successfully manifested various desires.
One person even claimed they had used it to get their former partner back.
That immediately raised a red flag for me.
My first thought was: this resembles black magic.
If someone no longer wants to be with you, yet you attempt to influence their choices through spiritual techniques, serious questions arise regarding free will and the ethics of such practices.
Another warning sign was the alleged connection to Nikola Tesla.
Having studied Tesla’s life and work for many years, I found it difficult to believe that repeatedly writing wishes in order to attract money or win back an ex-partner had anything to do with his ideas or theories.
Rituals and Karmic Contracts
Through years of experimenting with different rituals, I came to understand that rituals with a specific structure—sometimes referred to as ceremonial magic—often function through the creation of agreements, or what I describe as karmic contracts, with unseen entities.
To me, the 369 method clearly resembled a ritual with a very specific formula.
From my perspective, it is not the numbers themselves that magically amplify manifestation through hidden mathematical laws of the universe.
Rather, I believe that repeating the ritual in this precise format may establish a connection—or contract—with whatever consciousness or entity stands behind that ritual.
In this sense, it functions similarly to praying to a particular being, repeatedly invoking its name, or using sigils—symbols traditionally associated with specific entities.
For this reason, I approach practices like this with extreme caution and personally regard them as forms of ritual magic that may carry hidden consequences.
Hidden Costs
Could such rituals appear to work?
Possibly.
Someone may indeed experience the desired outcome.
However, in my experience, there is often a price attached.
That price is rarely obvious.
Months or years later, someone may experience illness, accidents, chronic fatigue, emotional instability, loss, or discover that what they manifested ultimately brought suffering instead of fulfillment.
Most people would never connect those later events with the ritual they performed.
Yet after many years of personal experimentation, observing others, and exploring these topics, I repeatedly noticed similar patterns.
Later, through energetic investigations conducted in collaboration with intuitives and through regressive hypnosis sessions, I often found what appeared to be deception and the involvement of hostile entities behind many of these practices.
A Broader Principle
In my view, any ritual with a fixed formula designed to produce a specific result has the potential to involve unseen spiritual agreements.
This may include:
- religious rituals,
- Reiki initiations,
- shamanic ceremonies,
- manifestation rituals,
- Kundalini activation rituals,
- or many other spiritual practices.
From my perspective, these practices often involve surrendering one’s power to something external.
While I do not believe this is always the case, I have frequently found what I interpret as darker influences operating behind such systems.
Unfortunately, many people perform these practices without ever questioning how they work or attempting to understand the deeper mechanisms involved.
What I Have Learned
After more than twenty years of exploring spirituality and esoteric practices, I have reached several important conclusions.
I no longer give my power to anything outside myself.
That includes entities, Jesus, archangels, spirit guides, Saint Padre Pio, Saint Germain, the Ascended Masters, or any being claiming to help, guide, or provide spiritual gifts.
From my experience, these figures are often not what people believe them to be.
Even when something appears to be given freely, there is frequently an unseen “something for something” exchange taking place.
Instead, I believe that every human being is directly connected to Source—or perhaps is an expression of Source itself—and to their own Higher Self.
Everything we genuinely need already exists within that connection.
Likewise, I avoid participating in rituals whose true nature I do not fully understand, no matter how harmless or friendly they may appear.
The same applies to prayers directed toward external beings, because there is always the possibility that what appears benevolent is, in reality, something entirely different.
Energetic Clearing Sessions
If you have participated in rituals like those described above or have prayed to beings other than your own Higher Self or Source, you may wish to explore whether any karmic contracts or energetic attachments were formed.
I currently offer Energetic Clearing Sessions together with an intuitive.
During these sessions, we examine whether such contracts are present, identify any energetic blockages they may have created, and explore the potential unwanted consequences associated with them.
If this resonates with you, feel free to get in touch.
