The Dalai Lama Says That You Should Start Your Morning With Positive Energy
How do you start your day? Do you wake up feeling energised and ready to jump out of bed? Or, do you snooze your alarm repeatedly and dread the day ahead? Whether you consider yourself to be a morning person or not, the Dalai Lama says that you can wake up feeling bright and fresh, ready to make the most of your day.
“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.” – The Dalai Lama
If you want to let go of negativity and cultivate a positive mindset, the Dalai Lama suggests that you should adopt this morning routine:
Find a Comfortable Position – sit down on a comfy chair, cushion or you can even lie down.
Relax Your Body – let go of all negative energy, de-stress and feel the existence of your body.
Focus On Breathing – take deep breaths and notice the patterns in your breathing.
Be Patient – you might find that your mind wanders at first, but just relax and continue to focus on your breathing. The thoughts will pass.
5-10 Minutes – do your best to remain in this relaxed state for your 5-10 minutes.
Check in With Your Body – notice and feel the existence of your body, relax and let go of negative energy.
