This kid is one-in-a-million.
Meet Diesel Pippert, a seventh-grader in the Western Reserves School District of Ohio. In recent weeks, the serious-looking youngster earned $15,000 in livestock premiums from the county fair’s animal sale. To the surprise of those around him, however, Pippert donated all of the earnings to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
GoodNewsNetwork reports that rather than enjoy the money, the middle-schooler felt compelled to donate it to a children’s research hospital. To thank Diesel for his generous donation, the school district posted a photo of the student to its Facebook page.
“A young man lives amongst us who should be an example to us all,” says the Facebook post. “His donation of $15,000 will help to find cures for young children and save lives. Diesel, you are a hero!”

Shortly after the post was published, it was shared by thousands of social media users. The young man’s generosity inspired other activists to donate to the hospital, as well. One commenter commended Diesel, writing:
“You have forever changed your community and world, Diesel, and I hope you’re reminded of that in miraculous ways when the commotion fades. Thank you so much for your donation.”
Another supporter wrote:
“A philanthropist can be any age at all. And he can be an extraordinary example of compassion to all. Congratulations to Mr. Pippert and those who are teaching him true love.”

Hopefully, his example encourages even more people to “be the change” they want to see in this world. Way to go, Diesel!
