RZA of Wu-Tang Clan Launches Vegan Puffer Jacket Made From Recycled Ocean Plastic

RZA of The Wu-Tang Clan has launched a vegan puffer jacket that is made out of recycled plastic bottles that were removed from the ocean. RZA’s company 36 Chambers has teamed up with PETA and the German clothing brand Embassy of Bricks for the project. The jacked is called the Flying Guillotine Puffer Jacket, named after the Taiwanese film “Master of the Flying Guillotine.”
RZA says that we now have the technology to create ethical products.
“As we evolve as a people through technology and ingenuity, we have the ability through humane ways to fashion garments that not only serve our purpose but also, more importantly, abandon the unnecessary cruelty to animals,” RZA said.
In a statement discussing the project, PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said that, “While down items harm animals and the planet, this warm, trendy vegan coat made with 100 percent recycled ocean plastic will help PETA save animals. The Flying Guillotine Puffer Jacket is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to wear their heart on their sleeve this winter.”
The jacket costs about $336 with 15% of the profits being donated to PETA.

Eight out of the ten official members of the group are vegan, so making cruelty-free products is a priority for the company. Last month, Truth Theory reported that 36 Chambers, the same Wu-affiliated company responsible for the Flying Guillotine Puffer Jacket, also launched a vegan leather wallet made out of fibers from banana trees. Since forming in 2016, the company has made a variety of other vegan products.
