17 Of The Most Powerful Conversations And Quotes From Alice In Wonderland

BLuke Miller Truth Theory

The name Alice in Greek means “truth” and while her wonderland that many believe to be fantasy seems like a far far away realty- the metaphors and messages within it are far more grounded in this reality than we think. Since men and women have been able to speak, we have communicated in the language of story. In many tribal cultures this is how wisdom has been passed down to younger generations. Alice (truth) is a modern day symbol for this for anyone who has the eye to see it.

Here are 17 magical metaphorical messages from Alice and her mystical team:

“I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I’m not the same, the next question is ‘Who in the world am I?’ Ah, that’s the great puzzle!” Alice

“I can’t explain myself, I’m afraid, Sir, because I’m not myself you see.” Alice

Alice: “But I don’t want to go among mad people,”

Cat: “Oh, you can’t help that, we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”

Alice: “How do you know I’m mad?”

Cat: “You must be, or you wouldn’t have come here.” Alice and The Cheshire Cat

Alice: “There’s no use trying, one can’t believe impossible things.”

Queen: “I daresay you haven’t had much practice, when I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Alice and The Queen Of Hearts

“Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop.” The King Of Hearts

Duchess “You’re thinking about something, my dear, and that makes you forget to talk. I can’t tell you just now what the moral of that is, but I shall remember it in a bit.”

Alice: Perhaps it hasn’t one…

Duchess: “Tut, tut, child! Everything’s got a moral, if only you can find it.” Alice and The Duchess

I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.– Alice

Caterpillar: “Who are YOU?”

Alice: “I-I hardly know, sir, just at present – at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.” Alice and The Caterpillar

“You used to be much more…muchier. You’ve lost your muchness.” The Mad Hatter

The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.– The White Rabbit

Mad Hatter: “Have I gone mad?”

Alice: “I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.” Alice and The Mad Hatter

Alice: “How long is forever?”

White Rabbit: “Sometimes, just one second.”

I’m not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours.– The Cheshire Cat

Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.– The Cheshire Cat

If you’ll believe in me, I’ll believe in you. Is that a bargain?– The Unicorn

Humpty Dumpty: “When I use a word, it means what I choose it to mean – neither more nor less.”

Alice: “The question is, whether you can make words mean different things.”

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”
