We might be going through a tough time during this pandemic, but have you ever wondered how difficult it is for stray animals? While America may not have a lot of stray animals, the mental pressure that the population is facing right now is getting a vent-out on pets as well. Yes, neglecting pets has always been a trait of many pseudo-owners who cannot handle the responsibility of taking care of pets. A neglected dog found in Detroit in 2016 is an example of such cruelty, which still persists.

Kevin, Kenneth, and Kenny are three brothers and they, along with their friend, Andrew Daniels, were out helping their neighbor. They were trying to help her move some stuff when they came across a heart-wrenching sight.

They saw a poor neglected dog tied at the back of a house. The neglected dog was dehydrated and starving. She could have passed away at any moment.

But the children were kind. Despite their age, they were mature enough to know that they had to intervene to save this neglected dog. They quickly wrapped a jacket around the dog to keep her warm and brought her back home. She was named Sparkles by them. They took care of the dog, gave her water and food, and eventually, Sparkles was back in reasonable shape.

However, no one can deny how lucky Sparkles was to get in touch with these amazing children.

The children, later on, contacted a rescue center, and the rescue center sent people to pick up the dog. The neglected dog was diagnosed with malnutrition and severe mange.

The story of Sparkles was shared by the rescue on their Facebook account, and it took off on the internet. The staff thanked the four children and praised their kindness, which saved Sparkles.

The founder of the organization, Theresa Sumpter, said that she was sure that Sparkles was in good hands as the children looked eager to help and care for the dog. Later on, the vet confirmed that the dog did not actually have mange. However, she was so malnutritioned that she looked as if she had mange.

Not having mange is great news. The recovery would be much faster and the dog can be put up for adoption so that the once-neglected dog can finally get a loving furever home.

Eventually, Sparkle did get a loving mom.

And what about the kind 4-member team? Well, they went on to save two more neglected dogs.

Truly, they are four little heroes.
