It was a moment that left the famous actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson not particularly proud of himself.
“Not my finest hour 🤦🏽♂️, but a man’s gotta go to work,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
However, there was a valid reason for his act of ‘violence’.
What happened was that there was a power cut at his house. And needing to get to work on the set of his new film, Black Adam, Johnson found himself effectively caged in to his own property.
According to the actor, “hundreds of crew members” were waiting for him to arrive so they could start filming for the day.
He said that on previous such occasions, he was able to disable the hydraulic system to open the front gate manually. But this time that did not work.
No time to wait for a busy actor
His next port of call was to a gate technician. But the technician’s call-out time of 45 minutes wasn’t good enough for the Rock.
At that point he felt he had no option other than to use the strength he’s famous for.
“So I did what I had to do,” The Rock explained. “I pushed, pulled and ripped the gate completely off myself. Tore it out of the brick wall, severed the steel hydraulics and threw it on the grass.”

Having successfully escaped his property, Johnson left his security people to wait for the technicians to arrive.
According to the actor, he was told that when the technicians got there, they were “in disbelief and equally scared,” upon seeing the damaged gate.
“Not my finest hour, but I had to go to work. And I think I’m 💯 ready to be #blackadam,” he concluded on the Instagram post.
