Manifestation has been popularised by movies such as The Secret, books like Think and Grow Rich and many other teachings on the subject that have popped up as a result. One of the problems with most of these teachings is they do not take into account the law of cause and effect, or they only teach part of this law- being that cause and effect infinitely ripples, and it is more like cause and effect and effect and effect and so on to infinity. Meaning that if you use the law of attraction to manifest there will be an effect that can ripple further than that you are trying to manifest. In short- you have to be careful of karma!
Karma can get you if you are trying to manifest something in your life that (a) you do not deserve or (b) you do not need. We are creators and can will things into creation, however these things are not always that which we are supposed to have. This is just my thoughts on this matter and have highlighted this and 2 other ways (1 detrimental, the other magical) we can use to manifest in this video.
