You don’t need to take LSD or psilocybin (also referred to as “magic mushrooms”) to have an out-of-this-world, consciousness-expanding experience. By tapping into the power of your mind and meditating on the following mandals, it is possible to receive clarity and insight on this collectively created reality we all willingly chose to incarnate into.

The visionary mandalas were created by Carolina Arévalo, a Peruvian artist. By using a series of tiny dots, eyes and seemingly infinite geometric repetitions, she is able to reflect her inner and outer worlds. Minds reports  that artist uses techniques such as finite subdivision rules, cartography, acuity enhancement and symmetrical repetition to create the ornate works of art.

Arévalo’s work provokes thought on social consciousness and our interrelationship with nature. By reconnecting to truths found within the man-made and natural world, it becomes possible to understand more of ourselves.

For Arévalo, the paintings are maps of how things felt and looked for her at a specific point in time. They are the gate openers to other magnitudes of reality, which is why staring at the mandalas long enough can spawn a psychedelic trip.
