This Dentist Travels Around Brazil To Treat The Teeth Of Poor People For Free

Felipe Rossi is a Brazilian dentist whose main job is to ensure smiles stay perfect. Por1sorriso NGO is the name of his NGO which he formed in 2016, but what’s most interesting about that is he and his team fix poor people’s teeth for free.

This Brazilian dentist is a kind Samaritan, as he believes that his life should be dedicated to doing some good for the community. Interestingly, he is not just based in Brazil- his endeavors have led him to places like Kenya and Mozambique. Needless to say, his work takes him mostly to third world countries where he doesn’t charge them money for his services.
Terri Rimmer is one of the many patients that have been helped by this dentist. She spoke about her life was completely topsy-turvy prior to her getting surgery. She mentioned the times when she couldn’t take a proper picture because everyone was cajoling her to smile, and she couldn’t.
Rimmer further mentioned how being without teeth was such an impediment to her culinary habits. She couldn’t eat cherries or different forms of salads. She reached such a precarious stage that Rossi had to remove all of her teeth and bring in bones from a corpse. Yes, the surgery was difficult but the life she is living since then has been amazing.
The surgery was so complex that it took months for her to recover properly, living each day in utmost pain. She spoke about how they had to add implants and screws in her mouth prior to taking off the dentures. Even the medicines that she took led to an upset stomach. All in all, she went through hell to live a conventionally, and socially normal life.
Needless to say, she is being treated with the respect that she always deserved.
It isn’t a surprise that a human being needs to be very particular about their oral hygiene for that could make a difference between living a healthy life, and being prone to diseases. Let’s see some pictures of how Rossi helped people get on with their lives.
