Mr. Beast has invited a large number of YouTubers for this cause which he described to be the largest collaboration of YouTubers till now. The project has already commenced with the posting of videos along with the hashtag- #TeamTrees and requesting all the viewers for a donation towards this initiative. The next step would be to put up all such videos about planting trees and about this venture on YouTube. They will try to make the YouTube algorithm feature the videos on the viewers’ homepage and recommendations. This will encourage them to be cautious and join hands with the team to make some contribution towards change.
This initiative commenced in May of 2019 and was started by Donaldson as a response to the fans’ demand to plant 20 million trees for getting 20 million subscribers. When he began the challenge, he and his team could plant about 300 trees in a day. He then collaborated with the Arbor Day Foundation to launch this venture under the banner #TeamTrees challenge.
