Hilarious Cannabis Ad Makes A Mockery Of Big Pharma Drug Commercials

By  Amanda Froelich Truth Theory

Do you suffer from overwhelming stress? Are you sick of relying on pharmaceutical drugs which seem to create more symptoms than they cure? If so, it may be time you try cannabis.

The natural herb — which is now legal for medicinal use in 27 U.S. states — has been cultivated and used by humans for thousands of years. And believe it or not, 0 people have died from using it in that time. Big Pharma, on the other hand, cannot make that claim. This is because drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the U.S. In 2015, for instance, 52,404 people died from overdosing on opioids.

A company that understands the benefits of cannabis and, as a result, seeks to distribute it far-and-wide is Briteside. The Oregon-based dispensary service recently partnered with Sandwich Video to produce an SNL-style video that makes a mockery of traditional pharmaceutical ads.

In the spoof advertisement, two frazzled adults finally receive the help they need… in the form of some potent stick icky. Immediately, the tone of the commercial changes. Suddenly, life is good for the pair.

Briteside offers an extensive menu of strains and products to meet your needs,” says the voiceover. “Choose the experience you want, and we’ll send you the dankest herb. The real sticky icky… If you like what we send you, keep the whole jar. We’ll even include some nugs for you to blaze.”

Potentially awesome side-effects were also listed, and they include: “euphoria, increased appetite, uncontrollable giggles, elevated sensitivity to musical dopeness and reduced anxiety.”

The hilarious ad rounds out with the class pharmaceutical line — albeit slightly adjusted: “Ask your doctor if cannabis is right for you. It probably is.”
