A new primate has been discovered- The Angolan dwarf galago has big eyes, ears and a big voice. It is part of the bush baby family, which is a species found all over sub Saharan Africa.
36 monkeys were observed by the team and as of now they know little about their lifestyle and diet, although the primate does have a very distinct chirping crescendo call, followed by a tweet, reports Magdalena Svensson and her team from Oxford Brookes University, UK.
Currently their habit is under threat, as the locations they were spotted in are not protected. “Logging is incredible rampant in Angola at the moment” says Svensson.
She continued “The habitat is disappearing” The Angolan dwarf galago is the 5th species of primate discovered in the African mainland since 2000.
