Kahili Gibran is a writer and poet most famously known for his book “The Prophet” in which a Prophet named Almustafa is leaving his city of Orphalese where he has lived for 12 years. Before he is about to board the ship, he is asked questions by the townspeople. He responds, sharing wisdom on love, marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, work, joy and sorrow, houses, clothes, buying and selling, crime and punishment, laws, freedom, reason and passion, pain, self-knowledge, teaching, friendship, talking, time, good and evil, prayer, pleasure, beauty, religion, and death.

Although this is the most famous of Gibran’s work he has written 19 books and 16 poem collections- below are a compilation of 15 quotes from The Prophet and other works that can teach us about self love and acceptance.
