Are conspiracy theorists really paranoid lunatics or just patriots after the truth?

By David Noble

In a series of articles I intend to examine if there is any basis to the claims by the government and main stream media that conspiracy theorists are paranoid lunatics and even low level terrorists because of their views? Having spent years looking into these so called conspiracy theories I would be the first to admit that some of them in my opinion are far-fetched, but what about those that seem more Plausible than the official explanations?

Let’s start by going back to November 22nd 1963 and the assassination of President Kennedy. While the government and main stream media have pushed the lone gunman story, a growing number are now questioning whether there was more than one shooter that day and whether Lee Oswald was set up to take the fall. In this article my aim is to prove that the official story is a lie only, not who is really guilty.

The single bullet theory  was introduced by the Warren Commission in its investigation of the assassination to explain what happened to the bullet which they say struck Kennedy in the back and exited through his throat. This is a perfect example of an official explanation that is far from plausible. Critics of this explanation have labelled it the magic bullet theory and I am about to show you why.

According to the official story the bullet enters the President’s back or neck and headed downward at an angle of 17 degrees. It then moves upward in order to leave Kennedy’s body from the front of his neck- It continued into Texas Governor’s John Connally’s body at the rear of his right armpit. As Connally had been sitting directly in front of President Kennedy, it must be assumed that the bullet somehow moved over to the right far enough to head leftward into Connally. Now the bullet headed downward at an angle of 27 degrees, shattering Connally’s fifth rib and departing from the right side of his chest. The bullet continued downward and then entered Connally’s right wrist shattering the radius bone. After coming out of the other side of the Governor’s right wrist, it entered his left thigh, from which it later falls out and is found in almost “pristine” condition (The bullet was nearly flawless, deformed slightly at its base) in a corridor of Parkland Hospital.

Even more bizarre is the fact that more fragments were found in Governor Connally’s wrist than were found to be missing from the bullet. So let’s sum this up briefly

One bullet that defies both the laws of physics and common sense causes seven different wounds in President Kennedy and Governor Connally and amazingly is found on the floor in near perfect condition of Parkland Hospital.

Also of interest is that Jack Ruby had been seen in the halls of Parkland Hospital shortly before the magic bullet was found leading some to claim that Ruby planted the bullet there. What makes this even more interesting is that Jack Ruby is also the man who assassinated Lee Harvey Oswald and was identified by Julia Ann Mercer at the scene of the assassination acting suspiciously driving a ford pick-up.

Miss Mercer was driving west past the grassy knoll on Elm Street. Caught in a traffic jam, she found herself stopped alongside a pick-up truck parked part-way up along the curbing. She saw a young man, carrying what appeared to be a rifle, dismount and clamber up the steep incline onto the knoll. Miss Mercer also got a good look at the driver whom she identified as none other than Jack Ruby after being shown some mug shots. This was reported to both the F.B.I’s local office and the Dallas Sheriff’s office but despite this Miss Mercer was never questioned by the Warren Commission’s staff.

Miss Mercer was later handed copies by investigating District Attorney Jim Garrison of her statements as they had been printed in the Warren Commission’s exhibits. After looking them over she claimed that they had been altered and now stated the opposite of what she had said. The FBI it’s claimed had altered her statement so that it did not mention the positive identification. The sheriff’s office filed a notarized affidavit that said Mercer was not able to identify the driver. Mercer said that she had never been brought before a notary and that her signature on the affidavit had been forged. Had Miss Mercer lied about recognizing Jack Ruby or had the FBI really altered her statements?

Tom Tilson an off duty policeman had heard about the shooting on the radio and had in fact seen the Presidents car moving at high speed. He had also seen a man slipping and sliding down the back side of the grassy knoll hurrying away from the scene of the shooting. The man had come down against the side of a parked car before throwing something into the back seat. He then jumped into the front seat before taking off at high speed. Tilson found the man’s actions suspicious so decided to follow him in what resulted in a wild chase. Before the car got away Tilson managed to make both the licence plate and model of the car which was written down by his daughter. He called the information in to the Dallas homicide squad but never heard anything more about it.

Tom Tilson’s account seems to back up Miss Mercers claims but despite this was seemingly deemed as unimportant. There is in fact a lot of evidence that someone had fired on the President from the Grassy Knoll including witness accounts who say that they heard shots coming from that direction and indeed video footage which clearly shows in my opinion both the President and Connally being hit before another shot throws Kennedy’s head back which would suggest that this shot had come from the front. Watch the video below and make up your own mind…

Kennedy Assassination, the Zapruder Zoom in slow motion

As this article would end up being more like a large book if I were to include all the relative information I will finish with some words about the official autopsy and the events leading up to it. According to Texas law the body of the president should not have been removed from the city until a civilian autopsy had been done by a pathologist at the mortuary in Dallas. Despite this law the secret service had other ideas taking the body to the airport and loading it on Air Force One and then taking it to Bethesda Naval Hospital.

Another big point of interest is that despite the civilian doctors at Parkland Hospital having diagnosed the wound in the front of Kennedy’s neck as an entrance wound, the three military pathologists did not probe it to find either the bullet or its path as is standard procedure.

There are also problems with the authenticity of the released autopsy images.

Although the government publicly touted the authenticity of the images, declassified documents show that the government kept secret the fact that the pictures had failed a key authentication test.

Unfortunately as Kennedy’s brain a major piece of evidence went missing the real truth may never be known. Watch this video taken from a mock trial of Lee Harvey Oswald, in which Paul K. O’Connor testifies about the whereabouts of JFK’s missing brain. O’Connor was an attendant at the autopsy in Bethesda. Even though it was a mock trial, the judge, jury and attorneys are real (not actors), and the witnesses testify under oath.

What Happened to Kennedy’s Brain?

It seems to me that great efforts were made to cover up the facts of the investigation and autopsy. Many key witnesses were also claimed to have died at strategically important moments, (like David W Ferrie who was possibly involved in the JFK assassination) while others witnesses were ignored if there version didn’t fit into the official story.

I will let you make up your own mind as to whether people like me who question the official story are really lunatics or just patriots after the truth.

I would like to thank Jim Garrison for his bravery in his relentless quest for the truth about the Kennedy assassination. He battled against not only the Government but also the main stream media who were determined to discredit both his investigation and himself in an effort to get the world to believe the fairy tale that is the official story. Most of the information and indeed the motivation for writing this article came from reading his excellent book “On the Trail of Assassins”
